Ending the Year with Commissions

I absolutely refuse to do commissions for people I don’t know. But for people I do know? The sky’s the limit.

During this holiday season, I chose to take on two commissions that I knew I could complete (one did not have a holiday deadline.

The first is this absolutely adorable beard hat for a special little guy.

The little boy this was made for will now get to twin with daddy’s beard!

I found the patterns for free on the site Ashlee Marie and used the Striped Beanie Hat with the Bobble Beard Patterns in a size small for a toddler (less than one year). The patterns were both very well written with five different size options.

The one change I did make was that I added buttons to make the beard removable. The fun buttons can push right through the weave of the hat and be moved around to get just the right fit.

The second project was a lap blanket for a dear friend. Her grandmother has been ailing for a long time, so she asked for a blanket I had previously made honoring her mother-in-law on the 23rd Psalm.

This time I made the blanket with Simply Soft yarn and it has a great weight to it. The paid pattern is designed by ColorandShapeDesign and available on Etsy here.

I hope her grandma will love it and the promise it reminds belivers of.

Stitch on, Heidi
