This pattern is available on Etsy for $2.99. If you can’t tell from my posts lately, I love a granny square. I also love a blanket that uses the “join as you go” method so I don’t have to sew all of the squares together at the end. The Pocketful of Posies pattern was born… Continue reading Pocketful of Posies Blanket Pattern (Paid Pattern)
A couple of weeks ago, I took 18 squares that had been waiting to become their project and began putting them together. Their destiny is a wearable garment, a sweater. I’ve never made a sweater before. And the first iteration was beginning horribly. Horribly. Enter my friend Rah-Rah from my Crochet with Friends segment from… Continue reading Encouragement for the Granny Square Gauntlet
I feel like I’m cashing in my wild card this week. The wild card is the blanket card…arguably the easiest project to accomplish with granny squares. But being easy doesn’t make it boring. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I started my Granny Square Gauntlet (a challenge to crochet 100 squares in 100 days… Continue reading Gauntlet Project 7: Baby Blanket
It’s all about the photos In this Instagram world, it’s no surprise that good photos make the difference between a successful post and one that people will not look at again. It is totally doable, but crunch time is nearing. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I started my Granny Square Gauntlet (a challenge… Continue reading The Sixth Project, the Second Shawl
Crocheting is not my job (how I wish it was). My job is to raise my children to love Jesus and be prepared for the real world. My other job is to help others teach/learn at co-op. Yet another job is freelance editing and design. Then crocheting falls after that. But that doesn’t mean I… Continue reading Crocheting Like It’s My Job

The picture turned out great. Then the wind blew. My hook now resides deep in a crevice at… Continue reading A Gaffe in the Gauntlet
You’ve all heard it before. Someone compliments your dress and it doesn’t matter if it is new or old, flowery or plain, if it has pockets, you will always respond with “Thanks. It has pockets!” In days of yore (like a long time ago), clothing was all different pieces, so women layered a petticoat with… Continue reading “I like your scarf.” “Thanks, it has pockets.”
