The pattern can be purchased in my ETSY shop here for $9.99. Crochet blankets are a labor of love. That’s what makes them the perfect gift. I just finished a new pattern for the FLUFFY INITIAL BLANKET, which takes warm, fuzzy, fluffy, cozy Bernat Blanket Yarn and combines it with the personal touch of a… Continue reading All the FLUFFY Blankets! (Paid Pattern)
Buy this downloadable pattern on Etsy for $4.99. I love the look of a scarf made entirely of flowers, but I hate the thought of stitching each flower individually, sewing them together, and weaving in ALL the ends. This pattern is made using what I have dubbed the “Daisy Chain.” The flowers are linked together… Continue reading Daisy Chain Scarf (Paid Pattern)
“And we’re going to get married.” Did you sing it? I did. I couldn’t bring myself to write “ma-air-air-ried” though. It’s wedding season, and you know what the means: blankets. I’ve been working on a new wedding blanket pattern this spring, but I keep getting distracted. First, I needed make a baby blanket, then I… Continue reading “We’re Going to the Chapel…”
Throughout the fall, I went on a big kick of crocheting fun things–Little donut keychains, whimsical stress balls, and chickens. Everyone loves chickens. I imagined that I was going to sell these items on consignment in a local business, but somehow I kept pushing it off. I wasn’t sure why I needed 15 chickens and… Continue reading Because Crochet Makes People Happy
As we age, some things excite us more than they used to. Like the perfect dish scrubber. Once you find it, nothing else will ever be as good. I picked up some Lion Brand Stitch, Soak, Scrub yarn at Hobby Lobby a few months back purely because it looked like a new yarn that I… Continue reading Scrubbie-dub-dubbie
Having a hobby turned business is a labor of love. It can be a lot of work for a little money. But let’s be real, if I were in it for the money I either wouldn’t do it or would do it much better. The business part of my hobby is my way of justifying… Continue reading 2024 Year in Review
I don’t usually buy a crochet pattern book the first time I see it, but this one was an instant “add to cart!” Mix & Match: Modern Crochet Blankets by Esme Crick is a gorgeous book. It has 100 different strips that can be combined in countless ways to create unique blankets. The idea is… Continue reading Mixing and Matching
A few weeks ago I published a Personalized Heart Baby Name Blanket for 4-5 letter names, but I didn’t want to leave out those with longer names, so I’ve published a second pattern for people with 6-8 letters in their name. Unfortunately, I was unable to do more than 8 letters without completely reworking the… Continue reading Names, Names, Names (Heart Baby Name Blanket 6-8 letters)
This post contains affiliate links. Last summer, I ordered a mystery box of yarn from Lion Brand yarns and posted about it here. One of the yarns was Ice Cream Roving Yarn. What makes a yarn roving, you might ask? Roving means that the yarn has variable thickness, which gives the finished piece great texture.… Continue reading Stop Roving! Shape Up!
Is it bad that just five months into 2024 my temperature blanket already covers my dining room table? I wasn’t kidding when I said it would be king-size when it is done. With at least 12 degrees separating each of my colors, the variations aren’t as big as I would prefer, but I’m actually quite… Continue reading Five Months Down (Hexi Temp Blanket)
