Milestones and Merchandise

The first birthday I remember celebrating of my mom’s was her 39th. I was five-years-old, and I distinctly recall picking out a tennis racket at the local hardware store. I think we even wrapped it in a paper bag. I’m not sure why that birthday sticks in my mind–was it the number or the first time in my life that I could save that snapshot of a memory?

Fast forward 34 years. I am less than a week away from turning thirty-nine. It has been 21 years since I graduated high school, 16 since college, 15 since I got married, 12 since I became a mother. It has been 27 years, since the fateful day that I rode my bike into my first grade teacher’s mailbox and got the wind knocked out of me and the scar that I still sport on my upper left arm.

This life is full of milestones–some big and some small.

It was probably 15 or 16 years ago that I bought a small booklet of blanket patterns and taught myself how to crochet. There were instructions in the back of the book for each of the stitches and some helpful hints. Had it been today, I probably would have pulled up the most starred video on YouTube and have done it that way. Either way, it’s been a while.

In honor of the last year of my thirties, I’ve decided to put everything in my shop on sale until the end of the month: 30% off to mark this decade.

There are so many good things that have just been hanging out for a while. Make sure to snap them up quickly.

You can find this gender-neutral alphabet baby blanket here.

And this beauty.

Plus many, many more. You can find the complete listings at my Etsy shop where everything is 30% off!
