Suffering from Ennui–Isn’t Everyone?

The New American Oxford Dictionary defines ennui as a “feeling of listlessness or dissatisfaction arising from a lack of occupation or excitement.” In this day and age, aren’t we all suffering from a little bit of ennui?

That is the only excuse I have for not blogging in a while. It’s not that I haven’t been crocheting–I’m a crocheting madwoman. It’s more that when the project is done, I post a quick pic on social media and then move on.

I have finished some amazing projects that I can’t wait to share with you.

Seaside Sampler

Most recently, I completed the Seaside Sampler Afghan from Annie’s Crochet Club for my sister-in-law. She loved the blanket and subscribed to the club, but with no previous crochet knowledge jumped at my offer to finish it for her.

This afghan is part of subscription club, so the only way to access the pattern is by subscribing. When my sister-in-law realized she was not going to make the blanket, she cancelled the club, so I only had a little more than half of the pattern.

To increase the size and use up some yarn, I finished the blanket with the Meet Me at the Corner crochet border by Christine Bateman (a free Ravelry download). I would make another plain blanket just to do that border again!

Sanitizer Cases

For our first day of homeschool co-op this year, I didn’t spend the night before planning outfits or packing lunches. I spent my evening crocheting carrying cases for hand sanitzer–such is the world we live in.

The Crochet Hand Sanitizer Cozy pattern by Heart Hook Home was the perfect pattern…and it was free! I was able to spit out four of these in only a couple of hours.

Baby Blanket

Another recent project that I was super excited about was the Vintage Vibes Baby Blanket by The Crochet Fix. It was the perfect project for some yarn I bought. I made it for one of my best friend’s brother and his wife who expect a baby in the near future. I love gifting blankets.

That’s just a few of my projects from the past few months. Next up are a few commissions that I’m super excited about–no ennui here!
