Spring Peony Blanket and Spring Blossoms Bundle (Paid Pattern)

This day has been two years in the making.

Two years ago, I published the first pattern in the Spring Blossoms Pattern set, and today, I finished the last.

The Spring Peony Blanket Pattern is now live and for sale on my Etsy shop. Not only that, but you can instead choose to purchase a bundle of all four Spring Blossoms patterns at a discount.

I was working on this Peony Blanket at the beginning of COVID, but I decided I wanted to change the colors from pinks to peaches. So, I ordered more yarn, but because of the pandemic it took a while to arrive. By the time it did, I had put the blanket aside and moved on to the next project. There’s always another project.

This spring, my list of blankets to make was long, but I finally had time to pull the Peony blanket out again.

The end result is a beautiful flower to complement the others in the series. The peony was a hard flower to try to encapsulate in the grid pattern of corner-to-corner crochet and I’m not quite sure that I did it justice.

The buds are what sell it for me. Growing up, we had a patch of fuchsia peonies growing outside our backdoor. Each spring we would watch them slowly rise from the ground and form round buds with just a hint of color peeking out. Now, I have a patch of peonies outside my own front door. This time of year, they are just putting out their buds, but I can’t wait until they burst forth with lush blooms in various colors.

Peonies scream spring to me.

As do the tulips, daffodils, and irises in the other Spring Blossoms patterns.

You can purchase each pattern individually for $2.99 each (iris, tulip, daffodil) or I have bundled them all together for $5.99.

The thought behind the bundle is that you may want to take the four pattern and sew them together to make a much larger blanket, bringing spring to your home any time of year. The flowers can be made in any color combination by including a light, medium, and dark shade. I love the versatility of it.

If you make your own blankets, tag me @thehazelnutskein on Instagram or Facebook. I’d love to see your versions!
