Fuzzy Diagonals Baby Blanket – Free Pattern

I finished my fuzzy blanket made with Bernat Mix Baby yarn. I went for a subtle pattern, and I really like it! I think this type of blanket would be perfect for a tummy time blanket for little ones. The different textures will give them the perfect stimulation. Read more about projects I have done with this yarn here.

This pattern is definitely a keeper. My daughter said she wished it was bigger so it could be for her. Seriously, it’s so soft!

If you prefer, an easy to print PDF can be purchased here.

Note: This pattern was edited to fix some mistakes on 5/8/2018. You may need to reprint.

Yarn: I used 2 1/2 skeins of Bernat Baby Mix Big Ball in Aqua. Find it here. I bought it with a coupon, so this whole project only cost me $20.

Hook: J-Hook

Gauge: I don’t find gauge incredibly important for a blanket, but if you prefer one: 12 stitches and 6 rows makes a 4×4″ square.

Finished size: 31″ x 35″. The pattern can be increased by adding multiples of 6. (3 stitches = approximately 1 inch)

Stitches: This blanket only uses three stitches! How awesome is that?!

  • dc – double crochet
  • sc – single crochet
  • ch – chain

  1. I finally found this pattern!!!! Is it possible to do this in Pound of love baby in mauve/lavender I know it would be smaller but trying to use what I have on hand as I also have some purple & baby prints so this all would tie in if needed. I promised myself I would not buy yarn until I got rid of my huge stash.I love this blanket & have watched for the pattern fer a long time

    1. I think this pattern would look great in any yarn. If you start with 108 chains, it would be a comparable size.
