Ridged Ripple Baby Blanket (free pattern)

The materials for this blanket cost me five dollars. That’s right, $5. I purchased some clearance yarn from Herrschners a while back for $1/skein. I bought six skeins but only ended up using five. (I looked it up, and the Lovey-Dovey yarn is still available at that low price.)

In the middle of Operation Yarn Organization, I found this yarn still in its package, but this time I had an idea of what to do with it.

I was going to make a cloud blanket. It would be all one color and the cloud detail would be made using front and back post stitches or bobbles or applique. It was going to be awesome.

The Ridged Ripple Baby Blanket

It did not become a cloud blanket. But it is soft like a cloud. I chose to dress up my blanket with a flower, but it could easily be left off for a different look. It would also be a great blanket to put a monogram in place of the flower.
