Personalized Baby Name Blanket (Paid Pattern)

The pattern for this blanket is availble for purchase HERE for $4.99.

I post a lot of baby blankets. I admit it. They are my favorite thing to make.

When a friend of ours announced she was having another baby, I knew I had to make it personalized because baby’s big sister Ruth got the original Personalized Heart Baby Name Blanket. Millie needed something equally unique.

A customer had asked a while ago for a blanket with the name at the bottom, and I knew this was the perfect project to creat one.

This blanket is made using the corner-to-corner crochet technique. It can be customized with any name up to eight letters long. The pattern includes a graph with marked boxes for the letters and individual letter graphs making it a perfect gift for any little one in your life.

I went bold on this one. The bright pink against lighter purple makes the name pop. The great thing is, if you make this blanket on your own, you can chose any colors you want. I used Paintbox Baby DK yarn. (I used 13 skeins of Bubblegum and two skeins of Bubblegum Pink.) For a boy blanket, consider using Sweet-Dotty with Baby Blue or Dolphin Blue for the name. If you like greens and yellows, try Sweet-Dotty with Daffodil yellow. The possibilities are endless.

The finished blanket came out to be 42″ square, but could me made bigger for non-babies by using worsted-weight yarn or adding columns and rows to the graph.

While Millie is still too young to form a firm opinion on this blanket, her sister thought it was pretty great. She loves the texture of a crochet blanket. Who can blame her?

Until next time,
