Crocheting Into Fall

I feel like my posts have been few and far between lately. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been crocheting. A day without crochet hook in hand is very rare.

I’ve still been cranking out baby blankets, hoarding yarn, and planning out my next projects.

Today I finished a beautiful blanket from the Lunar Crossings Rectangle Pattern by Kim Guzman. She is an amazing designer and offers her patterns free on her website.

One of the best things about this blanket is that it can be made using only one skein of Lion Brand Ice Cream Yarn Big Scoop. I used the Mochi colorway. Why is it a big deal to have a one-skein project? The ends, people! I only had to weave in two ends! Maybe you like weaving in ends, but I see it as a personal goal to do it as little as possible.

I was actually quite pleased with the size this blanket ended up. It measures 38″ by 42″–on the larger end of what I normally make for baby blankets. I did pick up another skein of this yarn the other day. If I kept going it would be a great blanket for an adult.

I’ve had people tell me they prefer muted colors and then look through my stock and realize that I like colors. My yarn stash and for-sale listings are a cornucopia of color. This one might hit just the right balance for some of you out there. I love it.

Plus, it complements my fall mums nicely. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for fall–all those colors!
